A traffic collision involving two vehicles occurred today on State Route 78 East near Interstate 5 in Oceanside, CA, leading to significant traffic disruptions. The incident, which took place around 4:42 PM, involved a pickup truck towing a car trailer and a semi truck.
The collision resulted in lane 2 being blocked, causing a backup in eastbound traffic on State Route 78. Emergency response units from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and Freeway Service Patrol (FSP) quickly arrived at the scene to manage the situation and restore traffic flow.
By 4:55 PM, traffic was reported to be heavily congested, impacting both State Route 78 and Interstate 5. Responders worked diligently to move the vehicles to the right side of the roadway, helping to alleviate some of the delays.
