A Jeep Grand Cherokee was found over an embankment today in Sattley, California, with no occupants present. Emergency services responded to the scene at approximately 11:38 AM, where they discovered the vehicle had been abandoned for an extended period, as indicated by the snow built up around it.
The incident took place at mile marker 49 on the north side of State Route 46. Upon arrival, responders noted that the vehicle had sheared off a tree and was positioned about 40 feet off the roadway. Concerned citizens had reported the vehicle to the authorities, prompting a welfare check on the owner.
The owner was contacted and was unaware of how the Jeep ended up in that location. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported in connection with the incident. A tow truck was requested to remove the vehicle; however, the towing service indicated they would be delayed due to other commitments.
As of 2:47 PM, the towing company had rescheduled the recovery for the following day, while the California Highway Patrol remained on the scene to ensure safety. This incident serves as a reminder for vehicle owners to monitor their vehicles and report any suspicious circumstances to local authorities.
