Emergency services responded promptly, and the mother in the vehicle was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center for evaluation.
Five other individuals were also taken to the same facility, but no injuries were reported for them. They were transported primarily to be with the mother during this time. Meanwhile, two passengers, a male and a female, left the scene on foot and are currently unaccounted for. They were last seen walking towards the California-Arizona Bridge, both wearing jeans and dark-colored tops.
A tow truck was called to the scene to remove the vehicle, which was located approximately 10 feet off the road. The California Highway Patrol classified the incident as a minor injury collision, and updates were provided throughout the morning regarding the status of those involved.
