A single-vehicle collision involving a gray Mazda CX-5 occurred early this morning in Tamalpais-Homestead Valley, CA, resulting in damage to a telephone pole but no reported injuries. The incident took place at approximately 2:14 AM on Sequoia Valley Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the Mazda CX-5 crashed into a telephone pole. Emergency services were notified, and Marin County Fire was alerted shortly after the incident; however, they did not respond to the scene as there was no immediate fire threat.
CHP units were dispatched and arrived on the scene at 2:36 AM. Upon arrival, officers assessed the situation and determined that a tow truck was needed to remove the damaged vehicle. A tow truck was requested at 2:45 AM, and by 4:14 AM, it had arrived to tow the Mazda CX-5 away from the scene.
Damage was reported to the electrical wiring and conduit at the base of the telephone pole involved in the collision. Pacific Gas and Electric (PGE) was notified of the damage and dispatched a troubleshooter to the location, with an estimated arrival time of 40 minutes. By 3:53 AM, the troubleshooter's estimated time of arrival was confirmed to be 15 minutes.
The CHP unit cleared the scene at approximately 5:50 AM, ensuring that all necessary procedures were followed and that the area was safe for motorists. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the collision, and the incident did not lead to any significant traffic disruptions.
