A serious traffic collision occurred early this morning in Petaluma, CA, involving two vehicles that crashed into a telephone pole. The incident took place at the intersection of Roblar Road and Stony Point Road at approximately 3:54 AM. Both vehicles, a Toyota Tacoma and a Toyota Prius, sustained significant front-end damage.
Emergency services, including the California Highway Patrol and the local fire department, quickly responded to the scene. Upon arrival, they found that the collision had caused a telephone pole to fall, leading to downed power lines across the roadway. Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) was called to expedite the restoration of power and address the hazardous conditions created by the fallen lines.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries from the incident. However, the damage to both vehicles was substantial, with the Tacoma experiencing major front-end damage and the Prius also sustaining significant damage. Tow trucks were dispatched to remove both vehicles from the scene.
As a result of the collision and the emergency response, all lanes of Roblar Road and Stony Point Road were blocked, leading to an extended closure of the roadway. Authorities indicated that the road would remain closed for an extended period while PG&E worked to restore power and clear the area of debris.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes while the situation is being resolved. The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
